David Goodsell “Drawings & Other Things” Art Show

I stopped by one of my favorite galleries in Los Angeles, Gallery 1988, and checked out the current exhibit.

The current art show was from Dan Goodsell, who created hundreds of drawings—a majority of them involved a human-like piece of French toast, properly named Mr. Toast. Dan drew him in multiple situations along with fitting phrases.

Also featured in Goodsell’s drawing were other inanimate things such as a strip of bacon, carrots, lemons, onions, etc. Each one had a unique phrase. For example, there was a drawing of an onion looking sad as a rain cloud poured above it. Inside the cloud, it said, “Just get through today.”

Another one featured a happy lemon. It read, “I selfie, therefore I am,” very poetic.

The show was cool. It was different but very interesting. I’m not going to lie; I thought the huge bacon character was dope especially with his expression, his hairstyle and that sword.

Here are a few photos from the show. Check out the links below for more photos.
