Now who said they fucking with me, they just said that fucking with me, they didn’t mean it

Joe unleashes the beast within him and spazzes out.

He takes the opportunity to let the world know that he cannot be fuck with. His music is different. It doesn’t fit into one category. In fact, you can’t categorize him. He can do it all! He can do punchlines, metaphors, club songs, meaningful, confessional type songs, etc. he’s especially gifted in the latter one. Just look at the majority of this list.

Also, he’s unafraid to say that he’s unhappy with the current state of hip-hop. He does not like what he hears or the music that is being released. The music is bland. He cannot believe people are listening to whatever was out at the time. He relates the music to spinning rims: it lacks longevity; it will come and go. Nothing from that period was memorable or worth anything. He felt like Nas did before Nas tried to use it to sell records.

He wishes hip-hop was back to its older days. He wishes hip-hop was back to the 1990s and early 2000s. He wishes that before naming a list of rappers who were killing it then. The likes of 50 Cent, Eminem, Jay Z, Shyne, Nas, DMX etc. were dropping dope music during a specified period.

This song was dope since the first time I heard it. It helped revive Joe’s career after sitting on the shelf for two years. Plus, and more importantly, it made me realize how much of an unbelievable, talented rapper Joe was/is. I knew he was good but this confirmed how dope he really is.
