G.O.O.D. Fridays: Five Year Anniversary – Introduction

Back Camera

Five years later, and this is still one of the best weekly series ever.

During the summer of 2010, Kanye decided he would do what others were doing at that time: release new music every week. This went on for a few months until the released of his classic album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He did it as a promotional thing and as a way to create buzz.

It worked.

The music that was a result of this series was amazing. Some songs ended up on MBDTF, while another was saved for a dream album.

This series was dope—to say the very least. It provided myself one of my favorites songs ever—more on that when we reach that song.

The series included great guest appearances from Lloyd Banks, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Cam’ron, Pharrell, Raekwon, and J. Cole among others.

Every week, I’ll be posting a new G.O.O.D. Friday song, in the order they were released during the series back in 2010. This will continue, and ultimately end with the fifth year anniversary of MBDTF.

So sit back and enjoy some quality music.

If you haven’t heard these songs before “You’re welcome.” If you have, then you know how dope these songs are, and should just be reminder.
