Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy: 5th Anniversary

This album is nothing short of amazing.

It’s one of the greatest rap albums I’ve ever heard. It’s too dope. A majority of music and hip-hop fans feel the same way. Kanye delivered an incredible album.

The first few times I heard it, I knew it was dope. It was special. It almost felt like a fairy tale or a film. The protagonist gets in trouble and has to overcome a larger than life obstacle—in this case, Kanye has to win back the world after the Taylor Swift debacle. Eventually, the protagonist overcomes his trials and tribulations.

Kanye sort-of did.

I Love “I Got A Love”

I always liked this song.

The beat is fucking dope.

That’s probably why I’ll never forget this song. The drums are insane. Like really, really insane, out of this world. It’s hard as fuck. It’s loud too. Sometimes I have to lower the volume on the MacBook or in the car because I feel like the speakers are going to get destroyed. But I always return to the knob or button and increase the volume because this beat is way too dope to not listen to at a high volume level. The violin is beautifully intertwined. It’s melodic. It’s amazing. The beat is simply: heavenly.

It wasn’t until I heard Sandman of the Re-Up Gang (Clipse, Ab-Liva and Sandman) destroy it on the dope We Got It For Cheap Vol. 1 mixtape, that I considered it to be really dope.

Therefore, I’ll never let this song die, EVER!

Kanye West “Runaway” at the 2010 VMAs

After the whole debacle that was the 2009 MTV VMAs, where Kanye spoke his mind at the expense of Taylor Swift, he took a break from the spotlight and went away. This is arguably one of the best things to happen. As Kanye stepped away from the spotlight, he was able to really focus on himself and his next project as well as give people what they wanted: silence.

Welcome to Yeezy Week

Oh hey.

It’s time for Kanye to get a weeklong celebration, and if you need to know why, fuck off.

I don’t need a reason.

It’s Kanye-to-the. It’s Yeezy. It’s Kon The Louis Vuitton Don.

This weeklong dedication to Yeezy will feature content related to that man.

The week will end with the fifth year anniversary of his amazing, spectacular, brilliant, incredible, wonderful, special, and any and every other adjective that’s similar, album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Around this time five years ago, Kanye had a crazy buzz. He slowly built it by released new music every week in the G.O.O.D. Friday series.

Also, he stepped aside from the spotlight after the Taylor Swift incident, which ended up being rewarding.

It felt like the world was against him. And it was.

The second half of 2009 found Kanye painted as this villain for being outspoken at some meaningless award show.

He took a break from everything.

He went to Hawaii, took musicians and rappers with him, closed off communication with the outside world—I remember seeing an interview where someone who worked on MBDTF said that Kanye had a whiteout or a bulletin board in the studio and one of the things that it said was no cell phones or no Twitter, plus other strict rules. I guess Kanye must have caught some type of amazing zone or vibe and he didn’t want anything to come in and kill that or distract him and the rest of the contributors.

Ok, that’s enough of an intro.

All you need to know is that: “Yeezy taught [us].
